Japan’s Tomokazu Harimoto finally climbed the top step at the WTT Finals Hong Kong 2025, producing a composed and aggressive performance to defeat Sweden’s Truls Möregårdh 4–2 in the Men’s Singles final at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
After coming close in previous editions, Harimoto finally delivered his performance for Japan when it mattered most, navigating a stacked draw that included wins over Simon Gauzy, Félix Lebrun, and world No. 2 Lin Shidong before sealing the title against Truls Möregårdh.

Tomokazu Harimoto’s victory in Hong Kong marks a defining milestone in his career. Beating elite opponents across multiple seven-game battles, the Japanese star showcased maturity, tactical patience, and trademark explosiveness to finally claim the WTT Finals crown.
For Truls Möregårdh, another deep run underlined his consistency on the biggest stages, while Lin Shidong once again confirmed his status as top chinese star despite falling just short of the final again. Wang Chuqin injury also costed Chinese team to have not finalist in Men’s category.
