Hugo Calderano reaches his all time best world rank #3

Brazil’s paddler Hugo Calderano reaches his highest rank of #3, his career best ranking with 4913 points. Born in 1996, in Rio de Janerio, Hugo Calderano has made a huge impact on the sport in Brazil. That’s a great start for 2022 for the table tennis superstar!

NOTE: This is the highest position ever held by a table tennis player in the American continent of all times!

Hugo is also the first-ever player from Latin America to reach the Top 10 of the ITTF World Rankings. Previously ranked #4 in 2021, Hugo has certainly displayed huge improvement in his game in 2021.

Hugo also had an amazing run in Olympics 2020, he reached the quater-finals of Men’s singles where he lost to Dimitrij Ovtcharov who eventually became the Bronze medalist in Olympics 2020, Japan. He was also the first ever athelete from Brazil and Latin America to reach this milestone.
