WTT Contendar Amman 2023 is now over and the 17-year-old Chinese sensation Lin Shidong has won his first-ever Men’s Singles trophy at a WTT Series event in Amman. He defeated Germany’s superstar Dimitrij Ovtcharov to the title (11-7, 11-3, 13-11, 11-8) in the final day at WTT Contender Amman 2023. Dimitrij recently surpassed 500 career win’s in his career after his victory in semi-final of this event.
Japan’s Mima Ito won the women’s title, her opponent was the 2nd-seed Doo Hoi Kem from Hong Kong. Doo Hoi Kem was forced to withdraw from the final due to injury. Mima Ito’s performance in Amman will provide her an impact on the ITTF Table Tennis World Rankings, earning 400 points to seal her return to World No.5
In Men’s doubles, China’s Liu Yebo and Xu Yingbin won the final by defeating Japan’s Yukia Uda and Togami Shunsuke.
In women’s doubles, Taipei’s Cheng I-Ching and Li Yu-Jhun saved two match points to beat Camille Lutz and Prithika Pavade to the Women’s Doubles title (7-11, 11-6, 9-11, 12-10, 11-3).
In Mixed’s doubles, The 4th-seeded Kuai Man and Lin Shidong didn’t drop a single game on their way to the title at last week’s WTT Feeder event in Amman, and it was the same story this week as Kuai and Lin rounded off their impeccable campaign with a 3-0 win over 3rd seeds Bernadette Szocs and Ovidiu Ionescu (11-3, 11-7, 11-8).
