Oman Open 2020 Champions

ITTF Challenger Plus Oman Open 2020 finals, India’s Achanta Sharath Kamal won Gold in Men’s Singles category defating Portugal’s Marcos Freitas respectively. 37-year-old Indian outclassed top seeded Marcos Freitas after being down for first set. In Women’s Category Japan’s Hitomi Sato grabbed Gold medal defeating Kato from Japan.

ITTF Oman open is the final event before the ITTF events suspension due to coronavirus - COVID-19.

Women’s Singles Champion

• Hitomi Sato
• • In the final, Hitomi Sato defeated colleague Miyu Kato in a gruelling duel that required the introduction of the Expedite Rule; she prevailed in six games (14-16, 12-14, 17-15, 11-9, 11-8, 11-9)

Men’s Doubles Champion

• Lubomir Pistej & Aleksandar Karakasevic
• • Slovakia Lubomir Pistej & Aleksandar Karakasevic beat Belgian champions, Martin Allegro and Florent Lambiet, the top seeds (11-8, 11-6, 11-6)

Women’s Doubles Champion

• Honoka Hashimoto and Hitomi Sato
• • Honoka Hashimoto and Hitomi Sato defeated Singapore’ s Lin Ye and Zeng Jian, the no.2 seeds, to claim the women’s doubles title (11-3, 11-9, 11-7)
