WTT Star Contender London 2025 Coming Soon at the Copper Box

The WTT Star Contender London 2025 is just around the corner — and England’s next generation is ready to take centre stage.
From October 21–26, the Copper Box Arena, London England will host world-class action featuring a mix of rising British players and international stars battling across Singles, Doubles, and Mixed events for prize money around $250,000.

🇬🇧 Liam Pitchford remains sidelined with injury for the event.


British Wildcards Announced

A list of talented British stars have been awarded wildcards to join the competition. Tom Jarvis, Sam Walker, Connor Green, and Paul Drinkhall have all been elevated to the main draw via wildcards.
In the Men’s Singles, promising young players Jakub Piwowar, Larry Trumpauskas, Abraham Sellado, Kacper Piwowar, and Max Radiven will enter the qualifying rounds, joined by seasoned players David McBeath and Andrew Baggaley.
Rising Seniors Joseph Hunter, Louis Price, and Felix Thomis also feature in the qualification draw.

In the Women’s Singles, Anna Green joins the qualification stage, while stars Tin-Tin Ho and Tianer Yu are confirmed for the main draw.
Also in qualifying are Sophie Earley, Ella Pashley, Jasmin Wong, Mari Baldwin, and Sienna Jetha.


International Wildcards & Global Talent

International wildcards bring extra firepower to the London event.
In the Men’s Singles, Japan’s Mizuki Oikawa (WR 53) joins the main draw, while Doniyor Makhamov (Uzbekistan) and Hunor Szocs (Romania) enter the qualifiers.

For the Women’s Singles, Japan’s Miyu Nagasaki (WR 14) leads a strong contingent, with Mille Stoffregen (Denmark) earning a qualifying wildcard.


Upcoming Doubles Wildcards & Pairings

Women’s Doubles will see an exciting pairing — Anna Hursey (GB) teams up with Romania’s Bernadette Szocs, the European No.1, entering directly into the main draw.
Meanwhile, Tin-Tin Ho / Sophie Earley also gain a main draw wildcard, with Yoo Siwoo / Lee Zion (KOR) competing from qualifying.

In Mixed Doubles, Hursey partners Paul Drinkhall in the main draw as a wildcard pair, while Sam Walker / Tin-Tin Ho start from qualification.

Men’s Doubles features Walker / Drinkhall and Jarvis / Green in the main draw, alongside Portugal’s Tiago Apolonia / Marcos Freitas, who received a wildcard spot.


Spotlight on Anna Hursey 🌟

Anna Hursey, 18-year-old Welsh sensation climbed 22 places to reach World No. 54, after advancing to the Round of 32 in WTT China, Beijing — defeating Portugal’s Jieni Shao (WR 56) before falling narrowly to Kuai Man (WR 4) in straight but hard-fought games.

Hursey now aims to break into the Top 50, starting with her upcoming challenge European Team Championships in Croatia & WTT London.

Event Tickets are available at TicketMaster UK website. The event is also expected to have matches hosted on youtube for online audience.


WTT Star Contender London qualifiers take place on October 21–22, followed by the main draw from October 23 at the Copper Box.
