Sathiyan Gnanasekaran defeated Harmeet Desai 4-1 to win the men’s singles gold in the UTT National Ranking Championships at the DD Upadhyay Indoor Stadium, Surat.

Second-seed and multiple CWG gold medallist Achanta Sharath Kamal lost to Akash Pal 4-1 in the men’s singles to enter the pre-quarterfinals of the UTT National Ranking Champions Surat.

In the women’s singles final, Reeth Rishya of PSPB struggled before outsmarting Sutirtha Mukherjee of RSPB 4-2 to win the season’s first crown.
