Sharath Kamal, the 41 year old Indian legend has dropped to World Rank 106 with a total of 169 rating points. Sharath Kamal has performed well in Commonwealth Games 2022 but in WTT events, Sharath has not been performing well. He has lost to the likes on Xiang Peng, Kirill Gerasimenko etc. He has been missing from International tournaments since WTT Contender Zagreb. This is the first time since 2007 that Kamal has gone out of top 100 World Rankings! Sharath ranking has dropped 31 points in just one week after WTT Contender Rio.
Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, the previous India’s number 1 player has dropped to World Rank 102 after recent performance in WTT tournaments. In WTT Contender Rio De Janeiro 2023 qualifying round, Sathiyan lost to Thomas Keinath. In the WTT Contender Lima 2023 qualifying round, Sathiyan lost against Karlsson Kallberg in a 1-3 set score. Harmeet Desai has been performing well on international tour but he has yet to win a major WTT event if he has to crack the WTT top 25 rankings. Certainly, it is possible that he might do it this year if he continues his top form.
Manika recently has dropped only one rank in this week however Manika has regained her form and there are high hopes that she will perform well at top level in future WTT events.
Both Sreeja and Diya have dropped 2 ranks in this week rankings with WR #86 & #109 respectively.
