Romania will face Germany in European Table Tennis Championship Finals

In the STUPA European Table Tennis Championships, 2023 in Malmö Arena, we saw some thrilling matches with both Men’s and Women’s competition getting exciting! In the Women’s Championship, Romania has reached the final after a splendid performance from Bernadette Szocs. German Women team also reached the final and this will be sixth time both teams will face each other. In the Men’s Championship, Germany has defeated Portugal in the semi final.

Germany will face Romania in the finals to get the Women’s title of STUPA European Table Tennis Championship.

Semi Final 1 : Romania vs France

For the third consecutive time in the history of major European team events, Romania managed to overcome France in the penultimate stage.

In an electrifying showdown, Bernadette Szocs showcased class performance as the World Rank #12 prevailed against French player Prithika Pavade, in superb style. The thrilling match concluded with a final score of 11-9, 11-6, 11-13, 11-7, solidifying Szocs’ contribution to Romania’s success. This victory not only demonstrates Romania’s dominance but also sets the stage for an exciting final showdown in the tournament.

STUPA European Table Tennis Championship Men’s Finals

Germany has reached the finals of the STUPA European Table Tennis Championship 2023. Sweden vs France will decide the second finalist.

Semi Final 1 : Portugal vs Germany

In the Men’s Category, Timo Boll suffered a defeat in his first match against Tiago Apolonia but he later won the German team a spot in the final after beating Marcos Freitas.

“It was a game at a very high level. My team has been improving from match to match in this tournament. We are now where we wanted to be and we have to take the final step tomorrow.” said Coach Hielscher of Germany
