WTT Star Contender 2023 coming to Goa , India

World Table Tennis has released the calender of WTT Star Contender series for 2023 and it’s time for Indian table tennis fans to see their favorite table tennis icon in action. WTT Star Contender series 2023 first event will be hosted in Panaji, Goa of India. Panaji, the capital of Goa is awesome place to visit with mesmerizing beaches and delicious food.

WTT Star Contender Event Venue and details -

Venue

The WTT Star Contender Goa 2023 tournament has been scheduled from February 27, 2023 to March 5, 2023 at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, located in the Goa University campus. Check more details on WTT official website.

Format

The Star Contender events pit 48 men and women in the respective singles main draws. Players ranked in the world top 30 are eligible to play and four among them need to be in the top 20.

WTT Star Contender tournaments also feature 16-team doubles main draws for men and women alongside an eight-team mixed doubles main draw.

Eight qualifiers each in singles and four in doubles also get to progress to the main draw while host countries are also provided with sufficient wild-card entries in both singles and doubles categories.

Remaining WTT Series Venues

  • Second part of the WTT Star Contender series for first of the year would be hosted in Bangkok, Thailand in 23rd to 29th April.

  • Third part of the WTT Star Contender series will be hosted in Solvenia in 3-9 July.

  • The rest of the three part of the WTT Star series events location and time is not yet available.
