2022 has been an year of amazing table tennis action with so many WTT events and millions of dollars in prizes. Lots of players have made impact in 2022 with a series of championships wins and upsets. It seems like young players are now taking over the older generation with so many promising players in the top 10 list. Below are the top ranked players in 2022 -

Time flies really fast, 10 years ago, there was a kid from China who was hitting every ball without caring anything and making every shot. Reverse pendulum serve and then starts with a crazy attack from both wings. That kid defeated everyone and is now the World no #1 in table tennis and one of the most amazing players world has seen in quite some time. Fan Zhendong is a legend and there is no doubt that Fan is an inspiration to many table tennis aspirants around the world.

The men’s world cup #RESTART has been a treat to all the table tennis fans around the world. Day 3 bring sthe closure of the Dishang 2020 ITTF Men’s World cup with World No. 1 Fan Zhendong as the champion. Congratulations to the no. 1 seed and now four time World Cup Winner. This event was more special because of insightful commentary from England Top Player Liam Pitchford.

ITTF Platinum event, Qatar Open 2020 was full of surpises. The event was action packed and full of upsets and comebacks. Liam Pitchford defeated World No 1 Xu Xin. Fan Zhendong came back against an impressive Wang Chuqin.

Wang Chuqin, 19 year old sensation from China just defeated Ma Long in R16 and Liang Jingkun in Quater Finals and will face World Rank 2 Fan Zhendong from China.

China’s Liang Jingkun defeated Japan’s Jun Mizutani in an epic battle after being 0-3 down. He won the game at 4-3. Another upset was done by China’s Wang Chuqin who defeated defending champion Ma Long 4-3, saving 2 match points in set 6.

In the ITTF Qatar Open round of 32, Taipei Chuang Chih-Yuan(38 years old) defeated Japan’s Tomokazu Harimoto for the third time in just 2 months. The biggest upset was obviously caused by Table Tennis Legend, Vladimir Samsonov.
